Building the EICL Web Experience—Together
Working with Bess and Ed was an inspiring experience. From the moment we teamed up in 2023, their deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and compassionate leadership was clear—and contagious!
I learned so much about EPS’s values and the thoughtful work happening behind the scenes to ensure every member of the community feels seen, heard, and empowered. Bess and Ed brought vision, heart, and a whole lot of purpose to every step of the process.
Curious how that all came to life online? Let’s dive into the EICL website journey.

Reflection
My hope for the EICL page is that it continues to grow as a space to share our evolving story—highlighting meaningful initiatives like Voices in Action and the many ways our community engages with equity, inclusion, and compassionate leadership. I’d also love to see this page eventually live under the Who We Are section, as EICL is truly woven into the identity of EPS—not just student life.
When I joined this project, I came to it from a place of privilege, with limited understanding of what it meant to be an ally or how to take meaningful action—beyond what I had absorbed as part of the EPS community. But I also came with a genuine desire to listen, learn, and show up in more intentional ways.
What I didn’t expect was how personal this work would become. As the journey unfolded, it turned into a labor of love—not just for the community, but in support of someone very dear to me. EICL touches all of us in different ways, at different times. And for me, it’s been a path of growth, connection, and purpose.
